“Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art, thou Romeo?” We all know Juliet’s infamous line from William Shakespeare’s classic tale of doomed lovers. But what if Juliet had woken up and said, “Oops, oh well” instead of joining Romeo in the great beyond?

Well, that’s the premise behind the hilarious “extended cut” of Romeo & Juliet that hit the @stranahantoledo stage this week with the Broadway hit @andjulietbway. And with the return of @bwaytoledo and their 20025/2026 season in Toledo, your chance to experience this fantastic show for yourselves has arrived.

Kristen and I had a blast on Tuesday evening at the Stranahan opener, going in blind with not much more information that I just shared above. By the time the encore hit and the final curtain fell though, we’d laughed ourselves silly and marveled in the candidly clever story told by one amazing cast and crew. They even let me take a few pics at the curtain call to help me share this story with my people!❤️

We had sooo many questions to ask after the show about how it all worked and who those amazing performers were up on that stage. Thanks to Broadway in Toledo, I got a bunch of answers the morning after as @_loisellise, who plays Susanna and proudly admits she could be ready to perform every single part in the show with an hour’s notice, came back in early to meet with the media. Hailing from Flint, Michigan, Lois wasn’t too far from home, even despite her talent for taking all of us in the audience worlds away. Hearing her passion in words as she lives her life’s dream on stage was the perfect cap to my @andjulietbway experience and it’s instantly on my list of modern favorites. Thank you Lois!🙌🏻

Y’all have (6) more chances to see the show from Thursday to Sunday and really hope you don’t miss it! @andjulietbway is a wonderful way to launch a new season of Broadway in Toledo and I promise you’ll have a great time on this jubilant journey.

Hey y’all we’re baaaaack!

Following the success of 2025’s @techledo on Toledo’s sensational @glasscityriverwalk, our team is back at it again and we’re already in the process of planning Year 2 at The Ribbon on Saturday June 13th.

Today we’re sooo pleased to be able to announce who we’ll be supporting with the proceeds from #TECHLEDO2026. After realizing the potential we had to do some serious good in our city thanks to our $5,000 haul for Good Natured in 2025, Dennis, Darlene, Kristen, and myself all wholeheartedly agreed to continue supporting @metroparkstoledo with what we raise. Our Metroparks continue to lead the way in the U.S. with the ways they serve Lucas County, and they deserve ours and your support in finishing the Glass City Riverwalk and maintaining our award winning system of beautiful, natural spaces.

We’ve also decided this year to make the River Gallery Project our main donor recipient and are stoked at the opportunity to help Dean Davis (and the fellow artists he’s enlisting) complete 100 incredible murals along the banks of the Maumee River. @deano2225 and his @rivergallerystudio have not only set the trend in Toledo of continually adding new art to NW Ohio’s buildings and streets, but the work that Dean does to support everything from art to mental health and especially our young folk epitomizes the soul of what TECHLEDO stands for.

Art comes in myriad forms and we believe that all art has intrinsic value. It’s not up to us as festival organizers or event managers to define what art is or gatekeep what we personally prefer to keep what the public wants down. With our donations, we aim to help those who are helping others chat their dreams and hopefully realize them. Expect more variance to the offerings at TECHLEDO in 2026 as evidence of our intentions.

Stay tuned for more news and updates right here and very soon on our website. We’ve been grateful every single day since last June for the support we got and we love you all. Now let’s do it all over again! Just bigger and even better.🪩❤️

Diet Coke cheers today to a real one! @mressner celebrated her retirement yesterday at @invernessclub and I was so proud to be there to capture it. Meg has been a good friend to me and someone I’ve admired ever since we first worked together at the @solheimcupusa in 2021 and every Toledo @lpga_tour event since. If anyone has earned a well-deserved break and plenty of time to spend with her amazing family, it’s Meg. May her days ahead be full and the celebration of her life’s successes be never ending.🥳❤️

Diet Coke cheers this morning to one of my favorit

Diet Coke cheers this morning to one of my favorite young people ever. Last summer, in my former role on the board for the @jakecooperbarkpark, we heard from Oregon Clay High School who had some students interested in getting involved. One young junior, @alei.dior (pronounced ‘Haley’ without the ‘H’), expressed interest in getting some experience towards her dreams of a career in marketing. On the edge of being overloaded, as I tend to be in the summers, some motivated help sounded amazing and we happily took her on.

Alei turned out to be more helpful than we’d even imagined! She was obviously hungry to get busy assisting us with growing the park’s membership as well as our reputation as the only dog park we know of that focuses on the mental wellbeing of the owners as well as the overall health of their dogs. She was able to take basic cues on what to do, and had the initiative one needs to succeed in the world I’m lucky enough to thrive in. Instead of waiting around for tasks to pop up out of nowhere, she stepped up with ideas of her own and showed up on her own repeatedly to enhance our efforts.

In the time that we worked together for Jake & Cooper’s, Alei grew in front of our very eyes. A wee bit shy at first, myself and the other board members marveled at Alei’s enthusiasm and willingness to put herself in new and unfamiliar roles. She was essential in promoting and helping us organize our largest yearly event in the JCBP 5K9 Run/Walk, and she even placed in our best dressed dog costume contest with her adorable little fur friend named Pablo Escobar.

Throughout all of what she did for me and us, Alei was diving into her senior year and the results speak for themselves. Last week, Alei got accepted to her dream college and I am so proud of her for going all in on the one school and ending up a RedHawk. She’s got a unique spirit that I also recognize in myself, and she’s found that in herself 25 years earlier than I ever did. That’s a recipe for future success in her desired field and I just know she’s gonna be exactly what she wants to be.

Bravo today to Alei and the Clay HS seniors at their halfway point. See y’all soon at the finish line.❤️
